Viele Jahre als erster Vorsitzender und zuletzt als Gesch\u00e4ftsf\u00fchrer leitete er die Geschicke des Vereins. Er f\u00f6rderte den Schwimmsport im Westerwald und \u00fcbernahm dar\u00fcber hinaus auch Aufgaben im Schwimmverband Rheinland.
